Volunteers from the Syrian Civil Defense (White Helmets) sift through rubble at al-Shifa hospital in Afrin, northern Aleppo province, after it was targeted by a missile attack Saturday, 12/6/2021.
The shelling, originating from areas controlled by regime forces and the Kurdish-dominated Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF), killed 15 civilians and wounded 61 others, some of whom are in critical condition, according to the White Helmets. In an online statement, the SDF denied any connection to the attack after accusations from the opposition in Afrin. The attack occurred as other opposition areas in northwest Syria, namely Zawiya Mountain in Idlib province, have been witnessing escalation by government forces. Photo: (AFP)
