Episode 2: A second exile for Yarmouk’s Palestinians

June 3, 2021

Amina’s eyes brighten when she remembers the good days she spent in Yarmouk camp, the biggest Palestinian camp in Syria. A sad smile appears when she remembers her two years (2012-2014) under siege while there.

Her house was completely destroyed, as was 80% of the camp. But because her apartment was not officially registered, she can’t claim her right to compensation. She has nowhere to return.

Her family was forcibly displaced in 1948 from Palestine to Syria. Now, living in Lebanon, she struggles to find an answer to the question, “Where is home?”

This is the second episode of the short documentary series ‘Losing Home,’ a project that illustrates the pain and rage that hides behind Housing, Land and Property (HLP) violations.
