ISLAMIC STATE: The Islamic State of Iraq and a-Sham (ISIS) carried out a suicide car bombing Saturday evening in the Idlib provincial town of Benin targeting a checkpoint manned by rival opposition groups.

The attack killed a 14-year-old child and wounded others, according to the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights, while the pro-opposition Smart News Network reported that the attack specifically targeted the FSA-aligned Syrian Revolutionaries Front (SRF).

“If you are the Islamic State, why do you attack us when we are Muslims?” shouts a bearded fighter in a video showing the car bombing’s aftermath. “You’re killing us and targeting children because we are the true Islam.”

The attack came after a month and a half of fierce fighting between ISIS and rival armed factions in northern Syria that has left over 2,300 dead. It also followed a visit by Syrian Opposition Coalition chief Ahmad Jarba to SRF fighters in Idlib last week, who promised rebels that “advanced weapons will begin flowing to you in the near future so that we can fully liberate Syria.”
