Jabhat a-Nusra holds rally in north

JABHAT A-NUSRA RALLY: “We are supported by God,” a member of Jabhat a-Nusra tells a crowd in the northern city of Jarabulus. “We will not accept anything but God’s law,” he says, adding: “We will not accept any infidel system. We will not accept any democratic, secular, communist, socialist or Shiite system.”

The speaker added: “We terrify America, Israel, China and everyone who sided with Bashar. Thank God, we fight Bashar, so they fear us.”

Last week, Jabhat a-Nusra released a recorded statement declaring fealty to the Iraqi al-Qaeda organization, after Sheikh al-Baghdadi, the leader of the Islamic State of Iraq, announced the merger of his group and Jabhat a-Nusra in the “Islamic Front of Iraq and A-Sham [Syria]. Reactions varied in Syria towards the merger.
