Field Hospital Tends to Stranded Qusayr Civilians

‘NO HELP HAS ARRIVED’: A doctor at the field hospital in al-Qusayr discusses the impact of  more than 10 days of fierce fighting between the FSA and its Islamist allies against government forces and Hezbollah. “The opposition is broken and the people are too,” the doctor says. This facility was set up inside an abandoned store after the bombing of the city’s main hospital.

The physician interviewed says that more than 800 women and children have been injured after government forces pummeled the town, with most civilians injured in the bombing of residential neighborhoods. The doctor criticizes the Syrian Red Crescent and Red Cross for failing to arrange for the evacuation and treatment of civilians, saying that more than a thousand families are waiting for safe passage out of the combat zone. The Syrian Observatory for Human Rights reported continued fighting in and around  al-Qusayr Tuesday and the Beirut Star published an update on its website with accounts of rockets landing on the Lebanese side of the border in neighboring Hermel.
