* A commander in the recently formed opposition militia Jaysh al-Mujahideen told pro-opposition Syrian daily Zaman al-Wasl that his group had successfully seized control of a key Islamic State of Iraq and a-Sham (ISIS) stronghold in the town of a-Dana, in Idlib province, on Thursday afternoon. The victory came after a two-day siege of the town, and represents the latest achievement in a week-long rebel campaign against ISIS positions in northern Syria.

* Four opposition fighters were killed Wednesday in a suicide car bombing carried out by an ISIS fighter in the city of al-Bab in the Aleppo governorate, following another suicide car bombing earlier Wednesday, reported the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights.

*The pro-regime Palestinian Popular Committee in Yarmouk Refugee Camp accused militants in the camp of undermining attempts to evacuate elderly and sick people along with university students, according to the pro-regime Syrian daily al-Watan. The report stated that militants “opened fire on aid workers and the Popular Committee as they worked to implement this step, injuring a number of aid workers.”

Abu BasilAbu Basel, a member of the Palestinian Popular Committee in Yarmouk Camp, was shot in the chest by an unidentified sniper Wednesday.
