JOINT COMMAND: Rebel fighting battalions belonging to the FSA in south Damascus announced a re-organizationon Wednesday with all future operations to be conducted as the South Damascus Joint Command. “Most of the battalions were not effectively working,” said Ismail al-Dairani, the spokesman of the FSA’s Revolutionary Leadership Council in Outer Damascus. Al-Dairani told Syria Direct “the work now is organized and under joint military command.”

“We have formed an operation room to coordinate military operations,” said the group’s unnamed leader, who read the statement announcing the union.

After this unit centralizes its command, said al-Dairani,“we will witness a change in the battle for Damascus.
