In this video a citizen journalist talks to school-aged children, as they were running with notebooks, in the city of a-Rastan. He assumes they were running to avoid the bombing, but it turns out they were late for their class at the mosque, as their teacher has already arrived. A-Rastan lies 20 kilometers north of Homs, on the main highway. All of its citizens are Sunnis.
On April 4, Sohayb al-Ali, a citizen journalist from a-Rastan told Ahmed Kwider that more than half of the city has been destroyed by the bombardment and its death toll reached 1,000 since the beginning of the revolution. Video courtesy of alrstn YouTube channel.
