Mid-day Damascus update: 6-11-13

Damascus:

* Two explosions, one after the other, take place near the Passport and Immigration Department in Marjeh in the heart of Damascus.

* Regime forces target Barzeh district with three airstrikes. In addition to that, the neighborhood has been heavily bombed with mortars and artillery. Clashes simultaneously occurred on several frontlines in the district.

* Renewed mortar bombardment on Qaboon district.

* Heavy regime bombardment on Yarmouk Camp targets the areas around the municipality building and Safad and Palestine Streets.

Outer Damascus:

* 28 FSA fighters killed in an ambush in al-Marej area.

* Heavy mortar and rocket bombardment on the suburb of Duma.

* Artillery and heavy mortar bombardment on Harasta and the areas between Harasta and Masraba.

* Mortar and artillery heavy bombardment on al-Husainiya Camp as clashes occur at its gate. The town of Hajira was similarly bombed as well.

* The Air Force carries out an airstrike on Yabroud.

* Division 4 targets Moadamiya with rocket and artillery bombardment. The bombing results in fires across the farms. Fierce clashes between the FSA and regime soldiers attempting to invade the town occurred at the same time.

* Heavy artillery and rocket bombardment target the city of Darayya.
