NewsUpdateSept2013* Hassan Nasrallah denied that Hezbollah received chemical weapons from the Syrian regime in an interview with Hezbollah station Al-Manar Monday night. The Hezbollah leader called on Syria’s neighbors and the Arab Gulf states to reassess their position on the revolution and to cease “betting on military solutions.”

* Leading Syrian opposition politician Farah Atassi denounced the internationalization of the Syria crisis at this week’s UN meetings in New York, characterizing the meetings as “an international circus for lies, hypocrisy, and power seeking.” 

*Orient TV: The Saudi Foreign Minister Prince Saud al-Faisal renewed his nation’s support for the Syrian revolution and for the Syrian people fighting Bashar al-Assad during a meeting with Secretary of State John Kerry in New York on Monday.

* ISIS issues statement accusing FSA’s North Storm Brigade of taking orders from the CIA and German Intelligence in Aleppo province.

* SANA News: Syrian soccer team Al Shorta to square off against Kuwait’s Qadisiya team in Asian Football Cup qualifiers today in Beirut. The match will be judged by joint Iranian and Iraqi referees.
