On March 16, Syrian government and Hezbollah fighters seized control of the rebel-held town of Yabroud following an intense 33-day air and ground assault. The victory gives pro-Assad forces full control of a key stretch of the strategic M5 highway connecting Damascus with central and northern Syria. Here, Keenan Duffey breaks down how it happened:
