FIGHTING IN DAMASCUS: As battles escalate in strategic northeastern Damascus, the First Brigade in Barzeh uses mortars on Tuesday, without navigation tools, sight unit, elevation mechanism or even a standard baseplate. Their baseplate is a pillow. They claim to target “shabiha dens” in Eish al-Warwar. Regime forces bomb the downtown area of Barzeh on a daily basis.
The bombing often comes from Mount Qasioun, home to the Alawite settlements/residences of Eish al-Warar. The opposition says that Eish al-Warwar is the stronghold for the shabiha who attack Barzeh. Video courtesy of the First Brigade in Damascus.
