Syria Direct: News Update 9-01-2013

* Damascus residents tell Syria Direct that the price of bread had tripled 
since Obama’s pledge to act.President of the Council of Ministers Waiel al-Halaki says all food supplies are available, and bakeries operate around the clock.

* “We will have target list and sufficient warning on how to deploy in advance of the hit,” FSA Chief Salim Idris tells Al-Jazeera. Pro-regime Sama channel reports army units strike “terrorists” in Qaboun, Jobar, Harmalah and Douma in Damascus suburbs.

* Conversations with eyewitnesses in capital confirm coalition reports of regime redeployment of men and weapons from military installations to civilian institutions including schools and municipality buildings. Government said to be distributing missile launchers and cannons in loyalist neighborhoods of Damascus.

* “I just want them to attack so much, because I want them to make this huge mistake of beginning something that they don’t know the end of,” says Assad’s 11 year old in weekend Facebook post.
